i’m ben, and you’re probably here because you’re looking for a photographer to document and capture your special event, be it a wedding, engagement, or a family shoot. either way, i’m here to help.<\/p>\r\n

i’ve been doing photography for more than 10 years now. and as cliche as it sounds, i truly love what i do. i’m always curious as to what i would be shooting next. i’m indeed grateful to be able to do this.<\/p>\r\n

a lot of things inspire me.<\/p>\r\n

for something inanimate, i look for how light falls on a certain scene, or a breathtaking landscape or an unusually random wall.<\/p>\r\n

as for people, families or couples, i look for connection. the little moments, the subtle touch, that quick glance, the loving stare or even an eye roll. these are the things i look for. on the other hand, i\u2019m also comfortable posing people if needed.<\/p>\r\n

so how do we begin? i’m sure you have questions.<\/p>\r\n

will i have a good experience with this photographer before, during and after the shoot? will we get along? will we make awesome images together?<\/p>\r\n

totally legit questions to ask.<\/p>\r\n

well, since i haven’t met you yet, i would love to though, i can only speak for myself in the interim.<\/p>\r\n

here goes.<\/p>\r\n

i\u2019d like to picture myself as a hands-on owner of a cozy and intimate coffee shop. a coffee shop you look forward to hanging out first thing in the morning to get your cup of joe. as the owner, and seeing you a couple times already, i picked up on your habits and know what your usual is.<\/p>\r\n

so when i see you, i’d go – the usual? warm latte, soy milk, little foam, not boiling hot and a quarter inch below the brim?<\/p>\r\n

you go, hmmm, you know what benny boo? (i respond to this as well) lately, my bones are not getting enough love, so i\u2019m gonna give my bones a boost of calcium today! so give me what you got! a cow’s full of 100% whole milk in my usual latte please. i’m gonna need all that calcium and fat!<\/p>\r\n

no problemo! i’m gonna look for the strongest cow we have in the back (it’s a small coffee shop but with a big farmland in the back), milk the cow and fill up your usual latte with 100% milky fatty goodness. yes siree!<\/p>\r\n

in short, what i’m trying to say is, you’re comfortable enough to ask me because you know i won’t judge you if your bones need more calcium or not. or maybe, just maybe, you really wanted to see if i really have cows in the back and i milk them. regardless, you\u2019ll get your whole milk and your bones will thank you for it.<\/p>\r\n

that\u2019s as candid of a response as i can give using this metaphor. but to be honest, i’d like to think i’m pleasant to work with. zero judgement, flexible, and will give you the results you want.<\/p>\r\n

i can go on with some more metaphors, but it\u2019s best if we save it when we meet in person, because i believe metaphors are better said with hand gestures. =)<\/p>\r\n

also, the coffee shop is in my bucket list for when i retire, but i might skip the cows in the backyard.<\/p>\r\n
